To achieve success in MLM, you simply need to follow a series of steps. In other
words, it's a process. Listed below are the basic steps required to achieve MLM
success.
1. Find a Mentor - Before joining any company or system, you need to find a
mentor who has achieved success and can help you.
2. Find a System - Once you have a mentor, you need a system. Your system should
"standardize" how you get leads, how you convert those leads and how you make
money off the people who don't join your business.
3. Find a MLM Company - In my opinion, the company itself is less important than
having a mentor and system to use. It the "company" was the solution, there
wouldn't be a 97% failure rate in our industry.
4. Determine Your Metrics - Your next steps is to know your numbers. In other
words, how many site visitors equals how many prospects equals how many new
distributors. For example, 100 visitors equals 10 leads equals 1 sign up.
5. Work Your Numbers - Once you know your numbers, you simply need to work your
numbers. Based upon the numbers I mentioned above, you would need 1000 people to
visit your website to get 10 new distributors. Most people in MLM have no idea
about how many people they have to present their opportunity to, to achieve the
success they desire.
6. Evaluate and Streamline Your Advertising - You should have a way to split
test and track all advertising efforts. You must know which ads generate leads
and which don't. You must evaluate every single dollar you spend on advertising
and only advertise on methods that produce results.
7. Become an Industry Expert - People are attracted to people who are leaders.
If you would read just 30 minutes each day about our industry, you could become
an expert within a year. You should also read about goal setting, business,
success, financial books and inspirational books.
8. Think Long Term - Rome wasn't built overnight. Neither was Walmart. Don't
have the false assumption that you will become an overnight success. You won't.
Think long term. Set monthly goals and work towards those goals. And keep your
day job while you build your business.
9. Be Smart With Your Money - Don't make the common mistake of spending money on
crap that won't help you build your business. You should evaluate how you spend
your money. Just because someone recommends a product or service, it doesn't
mean you have to buy it. Just like advertising, you should only invest money
where you will get a return on your investment. Make logical business decisions.
And keep a monthly profit and loss statement to track your progress.
In essence, anyone can achieve MLM success. The secret is to have a mentor, a
system and a good company. Once you have those three things you must get busy
becoming a marketing expert. You must split test and track every single dollar
you spend in your business. Keep your finger on the pulse and you will succeed.
